Balatro developer on Game Awards nomination: ‘Completely surreal’

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 is currently the worst-kept secret in video games at the moment. While the remakes haven’t been officially confirmed, a government entity beat Activision to the punch.

It was recently discovered that The Infocommunications Media Development Authority, which handles video game ratings in Singapore, includes a listing in its online database for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4. The page notes the game is scheduled to release with a General rating in 2025 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 launched to critical acclaim in 2020, prompting fans to immediately begin salivating over the idea of a similar remaster for the next two games in the series. Those dreams were crushed when Blizzard absorbed Vicarious Visions in 2022, andTony Hawk himself said the project was put on hold after a replacement developer couldn’t be found.

In the last several months, however, whispers that a Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 may be on the horizon have begun to pick up steam. The latest round of rumors began in September 2024 when Hawk teased something “insanely exciting” around the franchise’s 25th anniversary. More recently, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 newcomer Tyshawn Jones mentioned appearing in a future game on the Feb. 18 installment of The Breakfast Club, followed by a mysterious teaser in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 referencing March 4 as a date to watch just a couple days later.

At the moment, everyone is watching a countdown on the official Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater website with bated breath as it ticks towards, you guessed it, March 4. Is this an announcement of an announcement? Or will we be lucky enough to get a shadow drop next Tuesday? All we know is that Iron Galaxy Studios is working on what increasingly looks like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4, given that its logo is at the bottom of the countdown page. Stay tuned.
